Product Overview

The GuardianORSM is a "Point of Loss" device that detects the disposal of surgical instruments allowing for their retrieval and reuse. It is comprised of a tilt-top plastic lid that has a 13" diameter center opening with a metal detector fastened to the inner ring of the unit.  The detector coil surrounds the vertical walls of the lid for detecting metal passing through the opening. Control electronics coupled to the detector coil includes an audible alarm and a LED light indicator for warning that the detector coil has detected metal passing through the opening. A calibration gain is provided for adjusting the sensitivity of the detector coil.  There is a digital counter that increments each time the unit alarms which is only resettable with a key.  This is designed for management to be able to monitor each room individually without having to be physically in the room.  The GuardianORSM is battery powered (Nickel-metal hydride NiMH) and/or has an AC plug adapter.
