1) Will the GuardianORSM Instrument
Detector work with surgical grade stainless?
1) Yes.... Since the GuardianORSM Instrument Detector
is a precision metal detector, the metal composition of the instrument is not a
factor. The GuardianORSM Instrument Detector responds equally well to all
types of metal, steel, stainless steel, zinc, magnesium, and aluminum.
2) Will the GuardianORSM detect
foil wrappers or other legitimate metallic trash?
2) Yes...The
detection coil of the GuardianORSM is a "non-discriminating" metal detector, so
it will detect all ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Many surgical instruments do not contain stainless steel, so
the GuardianORSM will be able to detect these items too.
3) Does the GuardianORSM Instrument
Detector require an 110V. outlet at the point of service?
3) No.... The GuardianORSM Instrument Detector uses a
Ni-MH battery pack similar to that of a laptop computer. Recharging can be
accomplished overnight and will last for two to three days based on the amount
of use, or it may be plugged into the recharge unit and used during the
recharge process.
4) Can the detection sensitivity be
adjusted on the GuardianORSM ?
4) Yes.....On the underside of the lid is
a calibration gain that can be increased or decreased to the desired level
of sensitivity. 95% of all
surgical instrumentation will be detected on the lowest of the sensitivity
settings.
5) What is the purpose of the Digital
Counter?
5) The Digital Counter is designed to increment by one
each time there is a detection occurrence so that management can keep track of
the number of detections that are occurring in each OR suite over a given
shift. Since the Digital Counter is only resettable with a key, management
is able to remotely monitor usage and compliance without being present.
6) What does GuardianORSM Instrument
Detector warranty cover?
6) 2 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
7) Will the GuardianORSM Instrument
Detector create a slow down in the surgical suite?
7) No.... With a large 13" inch center opening, the
GuardianORSM Instrument Detector will allow rapid drape/waste disposal while
at the same time forcing the drape/waste to the center of the trash/linen bag
maximizing the capacity of the trash/linen bag.
8) What is the mute mode for?
8) The mute mode allows for the use of the GuardianORSM Instrument Detector in areas where noise must be kept to a minimum. The
functionality of the GuardianORSM Instrument Detector remains the same when
the audio alarm portion is muted. The audio alarm is replaced by a bright blue
LED indicator.
